KANG KONG

Sambal kangkong is one of the famous dishes in Singapore, and you can grow it right at your doorstep! The leaves and stems are edible, and they are used widely in cooking, but can also be eaten raw!

Care Instructions

Step 1: Plant kangkong in an area with full sun or partial shade where the plants will have shelter from wind.

Step 2: Saturate the soil with water, and water daily to keep the soil muddy. Mix in compost or add nutrients to the soil before planting.

Step 3: Plant seeds or cuttings spaced 5 to 12 inches apart and 6 inches deep. Fertilize with a high nitrogen liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks after planting.

Step 4: Harvest the plants before flowering, 1 to 2 months after planting. Cut the stems 2 inches above the soil line so the plant will continue to grow new shoots. After the first cutting, new growth can be cut in 4 to 6 weeks.
