FAQ

  • Why should I adopt urban farming when I can just buy groceries off the shelf in the supermarkets?
Commercial crops may have been exposed to a variety of pesticides, growing your own crops would mean being in control of what goes into your food. Other than the practical benefits of higher quality groceries, urban farming will also reduce your carbon footprint. The processing and transportation of commercial crops generate more greenhouse gas than you would imagine, by participating in urban farming, you are essentially helping the environment.
  • How is Veggie-table different from other urban farming companies like Comcrop and Citizen Farm?
Instead of providing you with the products of urban farming, we want to have you involved in your farming at your own doorstep. HDB corridors may be far from the ideal location of a farm, but we want to show you how you can make a huge difference from your small-scale farm at your homes. And we are here to support you in every step of the way!
  • Can I cash out my Farmers' Wallet?
The Farmers' Wallet was designed to aid you in your farming needs, so the direct answer to your question is no, you cannot cash it out. Think of it as a separate saving accounts for your groceries, with the Farmers' Wallet you don't have to worry about running out of cash for your grocery needs.
  • How can I sign up for workshops?
As of now, we are still in the process of crafting the right classes for our urban farmers. Once we have everything ready, we will send out an announcement through our monthly newsletter, so enter your email to subscribe if you don't want to miss out on all the good stuff!
  • Can I sell my crops?
We would not encourage the selling of your urban crops, because we believe that your hard work is too valuable to place a price tag on it. Alternatively, you may hit the "Barter Trade" tab to find out what's available for trading among your fellow urban farmers! :)
